Program Highlights – Secondary
Program highlights include:
- Online courses are free of charge for all Grade 10, 11, and 12 students (part-time and full time), including adults, residing in British Columbia;
Students in Grade 10, 11 or 12 may be cross-enrolled (attending another Secondary school in British Columbia at the same time they take an online course with Surrey Connect).  Enrollment for full-time Grade 8 and 9 students is also free.  Please note that Grade 8 and Grade 9 students may not be cross enrolled.

- Continuous Progress/Entry - Flexibility
Students may start their courses at any time.  Students in Grade 10, 11 and 12 courses have 12 months to complete their studies, however they must stay active in their courses each week.  Grade 8 and Grade 9 students must complete their courses by early June of the school year.

- Up to $400 for Internet fees and connection fee (receipts required) if enrolled as a fulltime student (Maintaining 4 online courses at all times).
- Services (e.g. swimming, skating, martial arts, and gym classes) that support Physical Education learning outcomes and Fine Arts course equivalency, as well as course completion at an external site (e.g. Continuing Education) (*Please note: parents must create a billing arrangement with vendors and organizations where Surrey Connect is billed directly - contact Linda Somers at 604.592.4227 for details).


Surrey Connect is NOT a semestered program so students can complete courses according to their schedule and/or particular learning style. Grade 8 and 9 students must complete their courses by the first week in June. Students wishing to take grade 10, 11 and 12 courses may start at any time. Some students complete courses in one month, others take six or seven months depending on work schedules and individual circumstances.
